Farleigh crash: Woman trapped after truck crash on Bruce Highway
A young woman is fighting for life after rescue crews freed her from the wreckage of a horrific truck crash north of Mackay.
A woman remains in a critical condition following a crash involving a truck on the Bruce Highway.
Fire crews worked to free the critically injured woman trapped inside a vehicle following the crash north of Mackay.
Multiple emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Nebia Coningsby Road at Farleigh about 9.12am on Monday.
Preliminary investigations indicate a Hyundai Sedan was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when it collided with a Kenworth Tipper Truck.
Fire crews used hydraulic equipment to cut the trapped woman from the wreckage.
The women in her 20s was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said she suffered a significant head injury.
The driver of the mill mud truck, a man in his 30s, was also taken to hospital in a stable condition.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the truck, which was carrying soil, had rolled.
The highway was partially blocked as a result of the crash.
Investigations continue.
