Emergency services rush to rollover on Peak Downs highway

One of Mackay’s busiest roads is expected to be clogged up for the start of the long weekend, following a two vehicle crash this afternoon.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crew arrived at the scene of Mackay-Bucasia road at 3.15, finding everyone out of their vehicles upon arrival.
One lane of the road was closed at Mt Pleasant to assist with moving the vehicles.
Earlier this morning, the RACQ CQ rescue helicopter was tasked with saving a man in his 30s after a serious vehicle rollover on the Peak Downs Highway.
Two Queensland Fire and Emergency Services vehicles raced down Shakespeare Street at 8am this morning after reports of a crash on the Peak Downs Highway in Epsom, near the Denison Creek.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman confirmed four crews responded to the incident with the SES also on scene assisting.
A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesman confirmed paramedics were called to the rollover about 8am and treated a man in his 30s who was in a serious condition, and required transport via the rescue helicopter.
As of 9.28am the chopper had arrived on scene, and the man was in a stable condition at Mackay Base Hospital as of Thursday afternoon.
QPS warned of possible traffic delays following the incident.
