Emergency crews race to Kuttabul crash with person inside rolled car

A local resident has made a horrific discovery on a rural Qld road, finding a man tragically deceased inside a car that lay unnoticed on its roof for in a ditch for days after it crashed.

A man has been found dead up to four days after his car came off a rural road and rolled into a ditch north of Mackay.

Multiple emergency crews were called to the scene off Yakapari Seaforth Rd at Kuttabul following calls about 3.20pm of a vehicle on its roof with a person inside.

Mackay district duty officer Senior Sergeant Kyle Gould said the crash might have happened as far back as Saturday but was only reported by a local resident at 3pm Wednesday.

The single vehicle crash happened at the McKinley Creek bridge.

Emergency crews arrived to find a silver Ford Falcon on its roof and the driver and sole occupant, a 32-year-old Seaforth man, deceased.

Senior Sergeant Gould said initial investigations suggested the car was travelling towards Seaforth and lost control and ran into the ditch.

Mr Gould said police were still investigating the cause of the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit has been called to the scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the Ford Falcon or have relevant information, CCTV or dash cam vision between Saturday, 22 November and Wednesday, 26 November to contact police.
