A young woman was pinned under a car for almost 90 minutes after the car hit a kangaroo and rolled at Valkyrie, west of Mackay.

Emergency crews were called to single vehicle crash on the Fitzroy Developmental Rd about 10.30pm Thursday.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew responded to reports of the crash with entrapment.
She said one of the occupants was still inside the vehicle after being pinned by their arm.

The fire crew was able to remove the airbags to help release the person, who was extricated from the vehicle just after midnight.

Paramedics treated a woman in her 20s “with a significant arm injury after being entrapped by the vehicle” and she was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

A man in his 20s was also taken to Dysart Hospital in a stable condition.
