Explosive new allegations have come to light against a Mackay lash technician turned jail inmate who was allegedly involved in a violent home invasion where a female was seriously injured.
Two fresh charges were read out against Chloe Victoria Smith, who is currently serving time for her role in her former partner’s meth trafficking business after the pair were arrested as part of a police operation.
The mother of three will spend eight months of a three-year term behind bars, including over Christmas, with a parole release date in May 2024.
She appeared via video link for the two new charges which were mentioned for the first time on Tuesday in Mackay Magistrates Court.
Smith, 30, is charged with burglary with intent by break and causing grievous bodily harm on June 23, 2022 at South Mackay.
She still has a number of outstanding charges to be finalised including a dangerous driving matter at Bakers Creek, possessing drugs such as fentanyl and possessing property such as jewellery, watches, gold and a wallet.
Magistrate Damien Dwyer asked when Smith’s release date was in relation to her drug trafficking charges.
“It’s some time away isn’t it?” Mr Dwyer said.
He was told it was in March 2024.
Mr Dwyer directed the full brief of evidence be disclosed to Smith’s legal team by January 19, allowing some extra time because of the upcoming Christmas holidays.
The court heard any response from prosecution had to be sent before February 9.
The matter was listed for committal mention that same month.
