Police are waiting to speak to the owner of a stolen vehicle that later crashed between Rockhampton and Mackay on Sunday night.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the owner of the dual-cab Toyota HiLux, a man in his 70s, had been injured before the car was stolen but it was unclear how he sustained the injuries.

The spokesman said police were waiting to speak with the victim whose car was allegedly stolen from Park Avenue about 6pm before the crash at Ogmore about 7.30pm.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of Kooltandra Rd and St Lawrence Rd.

Three men inside the vehicle suffered various injuries.

One man was transferred by road to a nearby helipad to meet a waiting rescue helicopter before being flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition with head, leg and pelvis injuries.

Another two men, both in their 20s, were taken to Rockhampton Hospital by road in stable conditions with cuts and abrasions.

The Bruce Highway was closed to all traffic after the car crashed off the rural roads near Marlborough. The highway was reopened at 12.45am on Monday.

The Rockhampton Forensic Crash Unit was tasked to the scene, and extra police crews called on for traffic control.

No charges have been laid as of yet.

Anyone with information is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
