Brooke Melanie Rowlands and Jack Lesleigh Baker charged after Palace Hotel incident
New details can be revealed about an alleged pub assault which left a man badly hurt and two others facing serious charges.
A man seriously injured in an alleged pub altercation at Mackay can be identified along with new details about the linked court case.
Court documents seen by this publication reveal Bailey James Brooke suffered grievous injuries following an incident at the Palace Hotel on February 14.
It comes after Brooke Melanie Rowlands, 25 and Jack Lesleigh Baker, 24 appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday, October 20 both charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
Mr Brooke is not accused of any wrongdoing.
The maximum penalty for causing grievous bodily harm if convicted is 14 years and as a result the case must be dealt with in the District Court.
Lawyer Darren Robinson appeared on behalf of Mr Baker, who the documents reveal is a diesel fitter from Mackay, and Marcus Hahn from McKay Solicitors represented Ms Rowlands in court.
The court heard the police brief of evidence was due for the case by December 1.
Matters against the duo were listed for mention on December 8.
