A Mackay man, 25, charged with a spate of offences including going armed to cause fear, fraud, and myriad weapon, drug, and driving unlicensed related charges has pleaded guilty to just a few. FULL DETAILS

Blade Owen Hoffmann faced Mackay Magistrates Court on December 23, 2022.

A young Mackay man is facing a whopping 52 criminal charges including going armed as to cause fear, multiple weapons offences, and fraud.

The myriad offences were allegedly committed between March 20, 2021 and May 21, 2022.

Blade Owen Hoffmann pleaded guilty to just four of the charges, including driving while never having held a licence and drug driving in January 2022, and two failures to appear in court in April.

The 25-year-old has pleaded not guilty to most other charges, including multiple counts of receiving tainted property, and possession of drugs, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evasion, unlawful possession of vehicles, shortening a firearm, and possessing a weapon with altered identification marks.

Mr Hoffman has also pleaded not guilty to going armed to cause fear, fraud, and supplying dangerous drugs.

He faced Mackay Magistrates Court on December 23, 2022, via videolink from Maryborough Correctional Centre.

Legal Aid Queensland defence lawyer Erin Beer said two charges including arson could proceed via registry committal to a higher court, but the indictment had not yet been presented.

Mr Hoffman is yet to enter pleas for eight alleged offences on March 25 last year, including supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, taking or attempting to take a prohibited thing into a corrective services facility, possessing a utensil or pipes that had been used, and obstructing a police officer.

Ms Beer said they would send submissions in relation to summary matters to “hopefully” avoid trials.

Magistrate Damian Dwyer adjourned all matters to March 10.
