A Mackay man helping police with their investigation after the death of Suzanne Ruth Scott at Finch Hatton has faced court via video link from prison.
Matthew Owen Woodcock, 37, is remanded in custody on four offences including assault and wilful damage of police property at Finch Hatton in the Mackay region.
No charges have been laid yet in relation to Ms Scott’s death.
However police say they are investigating if there is a link between Ms Scott’s death and Mr Woodcock.
Ms Scott, 69, died following an incident at her Boulder St home in the late afternoon on July 4.
It is alleged her body was then driven to a Zahmel St address about 6pm where she was pronounced dead.
The tragedy has shocked the small Pioneer Valley community.
Mr Woodcock has been remanded in custody on other offences unrelated to the homicide investigation but instead relate to an incident that allegedly occurred earlier in the day at a home on Boulder Road.
Solicitor Rosie Varley told Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday that she had received a disclosure from prosecutions and had a conference with her client.
She said she had then forwarded correspondence back to prosecutions a week ago.
“I appreciate additional time is perhaps required to consider that decision,” she said.
He is further charged with wilful damage of police property at Zahmel St also on July 4.
It is alleged he damaged the window of a police vehicle.
The case was adjourned for three weeks until September 28.
