Mackay council election voters need to be aware some independents might be less than independent.

I HAVE read many letters and heard much debate about the Greg Williamson Alliance.
There are people who want to vote for the GWA because they believe in Greg and think he will get stuff done for Mackay with a strong team behind him.
There are others who fear the people he recruited to run with him are a 'yes' team unable to make their own independent decisions.
Voters need to be aware voting for some of the independents might well elicit the same result.
Many of the independents running in the Mackay council election have banded together in what can only be described as a second alliance or team. Not very independent in my book.
In the same way GWA members suggest you vote for them, I have seen how-to-vote cards numbering or highlighting other independents.
I do believe some of our independent candidates have great promise. I have particularly enjoyed reading their intelligent answers to the questions we have thrown at them and printed in the pages of this paper this week.
But don't fall for the alliance versus independents argument. There appears to be more than one team in this contest.
