A worker was taken to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning after sustaining chemical burns near Mackay.
Paramedics were called to the workplace at Hay Point about 12.45am after the patient sustained chemical burns to the abdomen.
While the accident is understood to be mining related, it did not happen at BHP’s coal-loading terminal.
They were taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, at Netherdale in the Mackay region, paramedics assessed two people after a motorbike crash on a private property.
A man in his 40s was assessed for a knee injury but declined further treatment or transport.
A man in his 20s was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition with facial and head injuries, and pain to the groin area.
