A NORTH Mackay man accused of stealing vehicles across the Mackay region has faced court after spending several days behind bars.

Levi James Brown fronted Mackay Magistrates Court for a brief mention on Thursday from the dock, after he was brought up from the Mackay Watch-house.

The 24-year-old did not enter pleas to seven counts of unlawfully using a vehicle and one count of attempted unlawful use of a vehicle.

Additionally, pleas were not entered to three counts of entering a dwelling to commit an indictable offence and four counts of stealing.

The charges relate to alleged vehicle thefts across the Mackay police district between June 29 and July 10, including at Farleigh, Kuttabul, Te Kowai, Racecourse and Mount Pleasant.

Brown was represented in court by defence solicitor Phillip Moore.

The lawyer did not make an application for bail before Magistrate Nerida Wilson, which means Brown will remain in custody.

Brown's case will return to the court on August 8 after it was adjourned by the magistrate.
