A busy Mackay roadway has been shut following a multi-vehicle crash that hospitalised a woman and elderly man.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a four vehicle crash on the Maplethorpe Bridge over the Gooseponds in North Mackay.
An 80-year-old man was transported to hospital in a stable condition after sustaining an arm injury, followed by a female patient with minor arm injuries.
Police shut Glenpark St in both directions and diverted southbound traffic down Meadow St while northbound traffic is diverted to Malcomson St.
Maplethorpe Bridge remains closed.
