Man rushed to hospital with life-threatening head injury after fall at North Mackay

A man who suffered a life-threatening head injury after reportedly falling off his bicycle is now in a critical but stable condition after being rushed to hospital early this morning.

A man, hospitalised early on New Year’s Day with life-threatening injuries, is now in a stable condition.

The patient, a man in his 30s, suffered a life-threatening head injury after reportedly falling off his bicycle just before 1am in North Mackay.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said bystanders reported he had fallen off his bicycle.

Paramedics rushed him from the incident’s location on Harvey and Malcomson St in North Mackay to the Mackay Hospital.
A Mackay Hospital Health Service spokeswoman confirmed he was now in a critical but stable condition.
