Man dead, woman seriously injured in Whitsundays rollover
A 48-year-old man has died in a shocking single-vehicle rollover that closed a road southwest of Airlie Beach and triggered extensive delays.

A man has died and a woman is seriously injured in a shocking single-vehicle crash in the Whitsundays.
Police said the car was travelling along Conway Road in Preston, southwest of Airlie Beach, and left the roadway for an unknown reason.
Upon arrival, officers located both the driver and passenger entrapped in the car.
Sadly, the passenger, a 48-year-old Preston man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 41-year-old female, was taken to Proserpine Hospital in a serious condition.
Police are seeking anyone that may have seen the crash or had dashcam footage to come forward. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
It is understood the vehicle flipped as a result of the crash.
Police diverted traffic through Ecker Rd and significant delays were expected in the area.
