A hand-made, heart-shaped jewellery box was lovingly made at their daycare centre.
Just like Ms Chase, mothers around Mackay awoke yesterday morning to breakfast in bed, boxes of chocolates, bunches of flowers and special gifts. The special day, Mother's Day, to salute the women who raised us, was well celebrated.
Many families took advantage of the fantastic blue skies and enjoyed a picnic at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, on the banks of the Pioneer River and at the seaside Mulherin Park.
Other mums took their little ones to see the Wiggles live at the Mackay Entertainment Centre, while others took some time out to catch a movie on the big screen.
Restaurants and cafes were buzzing with activity.
