Mackay’s first Aldi store opening in Andergrove on May 15

After rumours swirled for months, we now have the official opening date for Mackay’s first Aldi supermarket.

Mackay shoppers will get their first taste of German budget supermarket Aldi in less than a month.

On Wednesday, May 15, our region’s first Aldi will open on 1 Erie St, Andergrove, at the corner of Beaconsfield Rd East and Superior Blvd.

Bronwyn Post, managing director, Queensland, ALDI Australia said the company is excited to open its doors to Mackay residents to discover a new shopping experience.

“Locals who journey down to the grand opening will be able to shop a unique range of Special Buy items specially selected for the Mackay store alongside our exclusive brands curated to deliver the best quality products at the lowest possible prices,” she said.

Townsville had its first Aldi store open in November last year. Now, Aldi aficionados in Mackay won’t have to travel north or south.

The Andergrove store will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 8pm, Saturdays 8:00am - 6:00pm, and Sunday 9:00am - 6:00pm
