WHAT better excuse is there to indulge in some delicious homemade baked goodies than to raise money for a primary school?
Mackay West State School deputy principal Lisa Wayman said the baked goods stall fundraiser sold out in just 30 minutes.
Treats on offer included caramel tarts, fudge, scones, Mars Bar slice, vanilla cupcakes, rocky road and beef jerky.

"We raised over $1000 which was amazing," Ms Wayman said.
She said the money would go to the student council to buy vegetables for the garden for the students to grow and then sell at parades.
"The money will be used to create 'real life' experiences," Ms Wayman said.
"But also for Mackay State High School students who we are getting to build and create art pieces for our playroom to brighten it up ready for the start of our Pre Prep Program."

The Pre Prep Program prepares children to start Prep in 2021 by helping to familiarise them with the school environment.
The program will run each Wednesday from 9am to 11am beginning July 29.
