More COVID safe events and experiences are on Mackay’s radar after tourism operators connected with industry and government experts on Wednesday.
Mackay Tourism, in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland and the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport, hosted the 2021 Conversations with Industry event at Harrup Park Country Club.
The event helped tourism operators in the region connect with the State Tourism Organisation’s latest insights, marketing and event activities and opportunities to get involved in future TEQ events.
It also presented an opportunity to join tourism specialists during breakout sessions to provide feedback and ask questions.
Mackay Tourism chief executive Tas Webber said the event gave operators a chance to connect with TEQ’s strategies.
“Conversations with Industry will help operators in the Mackay region connect with Industry and government experts. This in turn will help them in delivering COVID Safe events and experiences,” Mr Webber said.
“The opportunity to have Tourism and Events Queensland, Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport and Queensland Tourism Industry Council come together as a resource represents an important step for the industry.”
