Mackay Northern Access Upgrade ramps up

From Monday night works begin at two sections of the Bruce Highway with motorists urged to allow extra time

NIGHT works will begin on the Bruce Highway on Monday as part of the $120.3 million Mackay Northern Access Upgrade project.

The work will occur at the Mackay-Bucasia Road intersection and the Sams and Healths Roads intersection between 6pm and 6am from October 26 to December 17.

There will be lane closures and speed reductions in place.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, obey all signage and drive to conditions.

The project, near Mount Pleasant, will upgrade the Bruce Highway and major intersections, reduce congestion and improve traffic flow from the Ron Camm Bridge to north of Bald Hill Rd.

The Mackay Northern Access Upgrade is part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program and jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments.
