Mrs Gilbert said she had been asked to follow Treasurer Cameron Dick into treasury after last month’s cabinet reshuffle, prompted by Jackie Trad’s resignation.

“This is an exciting appointment. It is great working with the treasurer, he has got a great vision for Queensland, including Central Queensland,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to making sure our region is in the spotlight.”
