The unbeaten Mackay NBL1 North Stars are ready to shine as they head south to Brisbane to take on the Capitals in a highly anticipated matchup.
Led by star point guard Isaac White, who recently inked a two-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets, the Meteors are a live chance to start the season 3-0.

White has been nothing short of sensational, averaging a staggering 37 points per game along with 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals – making him the league's leader in scoring and steals.
The Meteors will undoubtedly rely heavily on White to continue his dominant form and cement his position as the best player in the NBL1 North competition.
But coach Joel Khalu isn't putting all his eggs in one basket, with a balanced attack that will look beyond White to make an impact with import Djery Jean Baptiste a force to be reckoned with in the paint, averaging 2.5 blocks per game.
If the Meteors manage to take down the Capitals, they will join Ipswich as the only undefeated teams in the league.
The Metoerettes are also gearing up for a fierce battle against the Capitals.
The team will be looking to build on their impressive round 2 victory over Townsville just three weeks ago with import Davida Dale a standout player for first-year head coach Jaimey Doevendans, leading the league in steals with an average of 6.5 per game.
Dale’s 23 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game make her a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the court.
It won't be an easy matchup for the Metoerettes with the Capitals having only lost one game in the first four rounds and will be looking to take advantage of the Metorettes’ three-week break due to scheduling.
Denesha Bobongie has also been having a great season so far and will aim to contribute on the defensive end while staying out of foul trouble. She has tracked through the two games with a nine rebound average.
Both teams are poised to put on a show on Friday night. The Meteors and Metoerettes will take to the court at 8pm and 6pm, respectively, and fans can expect a high-energy, fast-paced game with plenty of action on both ends of the court.
A win over the Capitals would be a huge moment for both teams, and could act as the ultimate early season heat check.
