Kuttabul structure near Bruce Highway reports smoke in ceiling, emergency services respond

Fire engines rushed northward up the Bruce Highway after reports of smoke in the roof of a Kuttabul service station.

Two crews from the Queensland Fire Department are en route to Kuttabul after receiving reports of a possible building fire just after 3pm.

Queensland Police arrived earlier, with a spokesman telling this masthead all staff had evacuated before they arrived.

“There is no danger to human life,” he said.
It is believed it was an electrical fault in the roof causing the smoke, but the pumps were turned off as a precaution, the spokesman said.
