Fallon Drewett talks about the women in her life who inspire her

FALLON Drewett has inspired many Mackay women as the founder of The Just Saying Project. But who inspires her?

Mrs Drewett said it was the women in her family who had guided her to be the passionate and confident person she is today.

“I am surrounded by some of the most amazing, strong, kind and empowering women in my life. My mum, sisters and Nan,” she said.

“I was raised by my Mum who was a role model and showed me what a strong, independent and loyal woman looks like.

“I often ask myself ‘what would mum do?’

“She is a hardworking woman with a heart of gold.”

Mrs Drewett classed motherhood as one of her biggest achievements.

“I was never the most maternal woman, but that changed when I held my son,” she said.

“I have always been an over-thinker, a worrywart and I am a professional second guesser, which are some of the best credentials you need as a mum.

“It is tough, traumatic filled with lots of ‘what the’ moments, but it is also the most beautiful, mesmerising and rewarding job.

“My children are awe-inspiring and make me a better human.”

Her second proudest achievement is The Just Saying Project.

“I am so proud of the community I have created, my events and project and the amazing women in our region whose stories and passion have become the powerful and colourful fabric of it,” she said.

Mrs Drewett hoped to inspire women by being a role model.

“I like to think I lead by example,” she said.

“I have always had a moral compass in my handbag, and I like to think I inspire women to be who they are.

“That I inspire them to take an opportunity, to always know they can achieve what their heart desires,” she said.
