Horse float flips on Bruce Highway at Carmila near Mackay
Police have laid charges after a LandCruiser towing a trailer flipped off the Bruce Highway coming to rest over a barb-wire fence between Mackay and Rockhampton.

A young man has been charged with reckless and drug driving after a LandCruiser towing a trailer flipped off the Bruce Highway coming to rest over a barb-wire fence.
The 22 year old is expected to appear in Sarina Magistrates Court on December 12.
He is charged with drug driving, driving without due care and attention, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 4pm December 6 near the Gardners Rd turn-off along the highway at Carmila south of Sarina, or about one hour south of Mackay.
Photos show the LandCruiser resting upside down on the paddock side of the fence with the horse trailer on the highway side.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the LandCruiser was towing the horse float when the vehicle and trailer flipped and landed down an embankment.
He said high school students had witnessed the incident but there were reports the driver was conscious and walking around following the crash.
It’s since been confirmed one man was assessed at the scene and didn’t require hospital treatment.
It’s understood police later arrested the man and took him for a blood tests.
No horses were in the float at the time of the crash.
A QPS spokesman said two police crews were still investigating the crash site as of 6.45pm.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman earlier said three firefighter crews also attended the scene.
The highway is open to traffic.
It’s the second Bruce Highway crash in the region within hours.
Earlier, a motorbike rider was critically injured in a crash north of Mackay.
