STANDING on stage belting out a song with her idol was not how 14-year-old Bella Mackenzie imagined her Sunday night.
The aspiring singer’s dreams came true when country music star Kasey Chambers picked her out of the crowd and pulled her on stage.
Bella caught the Kasey’s attention through social media after posting a cover of her hit song The Captain.
“They put the big spotlight on me (in the crowd) and Kasey was saying she saw the video and asked me to come sing it with her,” Bella said.
“When she did it, I was amazed.
“I normally tag the artist of the songs I am singing but I didn't think she would see it or like it.”
Despite performing in front of one of her biggest crowds to date, Bella said she was more nervous about singing with Kasey rather than the crowd.
Another highlight of the evening was seeing Kasey tear up as she sang with her, Bella said.
“She said it was just really special to see (me) sing it,” Bella said.
Kasey's love has already paid off for Bella with a number of new followers and likes flooding the social media pages the 14-year-old uses to advertise her singing.
After making such an impression on her idol, Bella said she is passionate about trying to make a career in music.
“It would be amazing to earn a living from singing,” she said.
