An outback pub is putting on special nights for singles “ready to mingle”, albeit with its own cheeky twist.
The General Gordon Hotel at Homebush in the Mackay region has advertised the event with a poster that is unashamedly forward.
“Welcome to singles night at the General Gordon – the G-spot men actually can find,” the poster reads.
Attendees are asked to write down interesting information about them or an ice breaker question and then choose either a red, yellow, or green dot.
“Red means taken and here for moral support,” says the poster.
“Yellow mean(s) maybe, I’m on the fence.
“Green means I’m free as a weed baby!”
The inaugural event on Monday, April 24 – purposely set the night before a public holiday – delighted Mackay pub-goers, with some disappointed they missed out.
“(It’s) our own version of farmer wants a wife/hubby/situationship,” the General Gordon posted on Facebook.
The pub stated it was a “fantastic night” with about 200 patrons.
Breanna Godfrey, who tagged her friends on the event listing, commented “save a horse, ride a cowboy ladies”.
