Mackay police have been busy attending to several recent assaults, a graffiti incident and shop thefts across the region.

Police are appealing for information from the public to help solve these crimes.

Alleged South Mackay assault

Police are calling for witnesses to an alleged assault which reportedly occurred about 8.15pm on May 6 in Shakespeare Street, South Mackay.

They said a man was travelling in a vehicle and had stopped on Shakespeare Street when multiple motorcyclists approached him.

It is further alleged three of the motorcyclists then assaulted the man.

Police want anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.

Alleged Glenella assault

At 2.36am on April 2, a taxi driver drove an unknown man from a taxi rank in the Mackay City to Chelsea Crescent, Glenella.

Police said the passenger became verbally aggressive and punched the driver during the drive.

It is alleged the man then exited the vehicle before spitting on the driver through the open vehicle window.

It is further alleged the man verbally challenged the driver to a fight before kicking the taxi door and spitting a second time on the driver.

The unknown man then ran from the area on foot along an alley way that was close by.

Police believe the person depicted below can help with this investigation.

Anyone who may have information in relation to these images or this incident should phone police.

Police believe the person pictured in the below image may be able to help officers with the investigation into a recent shop steal.

The incident occurred on Wednesday April 7, 2021 about 2.30pm.

The public is advised not to approach this person.

Graffiti offence, Moranbah

A Moranbah resident woke on April 15 to find their vehicle had been graffitied.

A check of CCTV cameras installed at the address revealed that at 2.26am, a vehicle believed to be a silver Toyota Prado drove past the McCool Street, Moranbah home.

Minutes later at 2.28am, an unknown offender approached the victim's vehicle in the carport and used red spray paint to graffiti the rear and driver's side of the vehicle.

The person was described as having a slim build, about 170cm to 175cm tall and wearing a light coloured EVERLAST hoodie.

They were also wearing a black face mask at the time.

At 2.30am, the silver Toyota Prado was again captured by CCTV driving past the address in a return direction.

Police believe the person depicted in the image below can help with this investigation.
