Driver suffers head injury in Bruce Highway crash at Carmila

The Bruce Highway has been closed in both directions after a serious crash about an hour south of Mackay. DETAILS.

A driver has suffered a head injury in a highway crash south of Mackay.

Paramedics are currently treating a woman in her 30s on the roadside and the RACQ CQ Rescue chopper has been called to the scene at Carmila.

Initial investigations suggest the vehicle towing a caravan went of the side of the Bruce Highway just after 7am Sunday, November 10, near the Palms Rd intersection.

As a result both lanes of the highway are now closed for the rescue chopper.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were assessing one patient with a head injury.

Police and fire crews are also on scene.
