QUEENSLAND'S Energy and Water Supply Minister Mark McArdle arrived at the Executive Building on Monday with a spring in his step after returning from time off for cancer treatment.
Caloundra MP Mr McArdle stepped aside from his role in late June after being diagnosed with prostate cancer but is back to continue his reform work within his portfolio.
"I feel great. It's great to be back behind the desk and back to Cabinet today," he said.
"I go back next week again for a check-up with my doctor and then ongoing checks thereafter.
"But he's confident, I'm confident, I'm happy. Let's get back on with the task at hand."
Mr McArdle acknowledged it was prostrate cancer awareness month and urged men to see there doctors for a check.
He asked wives, daughters and sisters to push their husbands, fathers and brothers to get checked.
"If it's a concern they can deal with it immediately, if it's not a big concern they can monitor it as times goes by," he said.
"I always have had ongoing medical checks.
"I haven't liked it at all times but ... I've taken it on the chin and made certain I had it done."
