Shaun the Sheep Circus Show has the entire audience in delighted giggles

Children sat on the edge of their seats in mesmerised anticipation for the next flip, trick and skit from the woolly-tailed performers.

The genius comedy behind Wallace and Gromit meshed effortlessly with the acrobatic grace of a circus troupe for an incredibly entertaining performance.

An entire theatre of children were on the edge of their seats in mesmerised anticipation of the visiting show at the MECC, breaking out into delighted fits of giggles unbroken by a single tantrum or an “I’m bored” on Sunday morning.

The Shaun the Sheep Circus Show — a collaboration between global animation studio Aardman and Circa Contemporary Circus — was brought to life through a giant sloping grass hill built on the stage cleverly accessorised with electronics.

Perched on top were houses and in the middle was the farmer’s living room, his character providing the perfect amount of cheeky humour to the joy of parents and guardians in the audience.

Brylee, 6, said the show was fun with flock member Timmy her favourite.

Her mum Carlie Michelle said the performance was engaging all the way through with a large variety of skits.

Friend Michelle Edwards said her son Elliott kept asking how he could do the tricks that included aerial silk acrobatics, skipping while an adult stood on your shoulders, and all sorts of tumbles and twirls.

“He wanted to join the show,” Ms Edwards said with a laugh.

Lila Cassels, 3, said she enjoyed the dancing boys — for those reading at home they were grown men dressed in their woolly best — plus all the “back tricks”.

And Mackay dad Daniel Nicholls said he rated the show 10/10, “very well done”.

“The funniest thing was watching my kids laughing and carrying on,” Mr Nicholls said.
