Pick up your hats and dust off your boots because it’s about to get rowdy in Mackay.
Revered up-and-comer Casey Barnes is set to headline alongside other country music greats Graeme Connors and Troy Cassar-Daley at the NQ Rock’n Country music festival in Mackay.
Barnes has tracked more than 20 million streams worldwide, with many expecting him to become one of Australia’s most successful country music artists.
Rolling Stones Magazine Australia said considering the “bleak year” Barnes was able to “turn musical lemons into lemonade” with his song Come Turn Me On.
He will be performing his latest track God Took His Time With You in Mackay at the three day Rock’n Country festival this weekend.
The festival is set to kick off at noon Friday at the Mackay Showgrounds going right through til 1pm Sunday.
Event organiser Geoff Baguley said as the festival was cancelled last year because of Covid-19, this year was expected to be “even bigger and better”.
He said the three days allowed the festival to bring in “even more talented artists”, giving them a chance to showcase their voices while also boosting the local economy.
