Mackay, Isaac, Whitsundays Anzac Day 2022 guide: Full list of what’s on

With Covid-19 restrictions easing, Anzac Day 2022 is filled with plenty of services to commemorate those who have served. Here’s the official list of all services and activities in Mackay, Isaac and the Whitsundays.

With the days of candlelight driveway services now in the past, there is no shortage of services and activities available across the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday region this Anzac Day.

Those community members who have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19, are unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms — such as cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, loss of smell or taste, vomiting, diarrhoea or shortness of breath — are being asked to stay at home.

Attendees are also encouraged to take increased care to maintain physical distancing where possible, particularly if they are in a vulnerable group.

Here are all of the official service details for 2022:

Mackay

Bloomsbury: Dawn service, 5.30am, Bloomsbury Soldier’s Hall, Doughertys Road, Bloomsbury

Calen/St Helens: Dawn service, 5.20am and another service at 11am beginning with a march along McIntyre Street before, Calen Memorial Hall, McIntyre Street

Eton: Dawn Service, 5am, Langford Park, Telegraph Street, Eton. March to Langford Park begins from 4.45am at Hotel Eton

Farleigh: Dawn service, 5.30am Cenotaph, Farleigh Sugar Mill Grounds, Armstrong Street, Farleigh

Finch Hatton: Dawn service, 4.28am and another evening service at 6.15pm, Finch Hatton Cenotaph, Anzac Parade, Finch Hatton. Dawn march assembles at RSL Hall at 4.15am and the evening march is the same from 6pm.

Gargett: Morning service, 8am, Gargett War Memorial, opposite the Gargett Pub, Gargett Septimus Rd and Jim Moule Street, Gargett. Morning march begins at 7.55am from Gargett Hotel.

Greenmount Homestead: Dawn service, 6.40am, Greenmount Homestead, Greenmount Road, Greenmount.

Hay Point/ Half Tide Beach: Dawn service, 5.30am, ‘The Shack’, Half Tide Esplanade. March begins at 5am.

Koumala: Morning service, 7am, Cenotaph adjacent to Koumala Primary School, Bull Street, Koumala. March beforehand from the Bruce Highway opposite the Koumala Post Office.

Kuttabul: Dawn service, 5.30am, Remembrance Gardens, Hampden State School, 2880 Bruce Highway. March from Hampden School grounds at 5.15am.

Mackay: Dawn service, 5am, as well as morning service, 9.30am, Jubilee Park, Corner Alfred and Wellington streets, Mackay. March from near Senior Citizens Hall at 4.45am and then schools march from 8.35am.

MADASSIA: Afternoon service, 3pm, South Sea islander Meeting Hut, Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, Lagoon Street, Mackay.

Marian: Dawn service, 4.28am Anzac Place, Marian. March begins at 4am from outside Marian Mill.

Midge Point: Dawn service, 5am The Point Tavern, 7 Conder Parade, Midge Point. Breakfast will follow.

Mirani: Sunset service, 4.30pm, Railway Park Memorial, Mackay-Eungella Road. March assembles at 4.15pm from Mirani Council Chambers.

Northern Beaches: Morning service, 10am, Bucasia Cenotaph, Seaview Park, Bucasia. March starts from the southern end of Bucasia Esplanade at 9.40am with a sausage sizzle after the service.

Pinnacle: Morning service, 10am, Pinnacle Hotel, 604 Mackay-Eungella Road, Pinnacle.

Sarina: Dawn service, 4.28am, as well as morning service, 10am, Cenotaph, Broad Street, Sarina. March departs at 4.15am from Railway Square and again at 9.40am.

Seaforth: Dawn service, 6am, Cenotaph at Anzac Park, near Post Office at Palm Ave, Seaforth. A sausage sizzle will follow the service.

Walkerston: Dawn service, 5am, as well as morning service, 7.45am, Anzac Memorial Park, Corner Dutton and Bridge streets, Walkerston. March begins at 7.30am at Creek Street, Walkerston.

Isaac

Carmila: Dawn service, 4.28am, Carmila Memorial Hall and a morning service beginning at 11am from Carmila Police Station, Carmila. March begins at 10.30am from Carmila Police Station.

Clermont: Dawn service and March, 4.20am, Corner of Capricorn and Herschel streets, and a morning service from 9.50am, Remembrance Way, Hoods Lagoon. March from the corner of Box and Capella streets at 9.30am.

Coppabella: Dawn service, 6am, Anzac Garden, Coppabella. March beginning at 5.45am Coppabella State School.

Dysart: Dawn service, 4.28am, Dysart Cenotaph, Dysart Civic Centre, followed by a morning service at 11am, Dysart. March begins from Draper Street at 10.30am.

Glenden: Dawn service, 5.30am, Glenden Cenotaph, as well as a morning service beginning at 10am, Glenden. A march from Glenden Pool at 9.45am will precede the morning service, and a community BBQ will follow.

Greenhill: Dawn service, 5.30am, Greenhill Beach Boat Ramp, Greenhill

Middlemount: Dawn service, 5.15am, ANZAC Park Cenotaph, Eldridge Place, followed by a morning service at 11am, Middlemount. March begins at 11am followed by a light lunch. Two-up and a BBQ will be hosted at the Middlemount Golf and Country Club in the afternoon.

Moranbah: Dawn service, 5am, Town Square Cenotaph, as well as morning service from 10am, Moranbah. March from 4.45am from the Moranbah Community Workers Club and then from the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre from 9.45am. The Coal Face Art Gallery will have an Anzac Day exhibition from 5.45am to 6.45am and then from 11am to 12pm.

Nebo: Dawn service, 4.30am, Nebo Cenotaph, and a morning service starting at 10.30am, Nebo. March from the Nebo General Store at 4.20am and then from Nebo State School from 10.15am.

St Lawrence: Dawn service, 4.28am, St Lawrence State School, followed by a morning service from 11am. March begins from 10.30am from the council office.

Whitsunday

Collinsville: Dawn service, 6am, ANZAC Park Cenotaph, Stanley Street, as well as a morning service at 9am, Collinsville. March from Foodworks (Stanley Street) at 8.45am.

Bowen: Dawn service, 5.50am, Cenotaph on Herbert Street, followed by a morning service at 9.30am, Bowen. March from the RSL at 9.15am.

Proserpine: Dawn service, 4.30am, Proserpine Cenotaph, Main Street, and a morning service from 10.50am, Proserpine. March from the Proserpine RSL at 10.30am.

Cannonvale: Dawn service, 5.30am, Cannonvale Cenotaph, Coral Esplanade, Cannonvale.

Airlie Beach: Morning service, 9am, Cenotaph, Airlie Esplanade, Airlie Beach. March begins at 8.45am from Broadwater Carpark.
