Families can walk among the Earth’s largest-ever creatures and even come face-to-face with the legendary Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The life-size animatronic dinosaurs will be descending on Mackay Showgrounds as part of the Dinosaur Festival from September 17 until September 19.

During the festival, people can interact with their favourite dinosaurs and explore a replica of the prehistoric world they once inhabited.

Hands-on learning activities also will be sprawled throughout the exhibit, hoping to educate children on “the tragic story of mass extinction over 150 million years ago”.

While the Dinosaur Festival has appeared in Brisbane, Toowoomba and even Perth, this is the first time the exhibit will make the trip to Mackay.
