Ukrainian acrobats, a Columbian BMX rider and an Armenian are among the showstopping world performers hoping to wow Mackay audiences with the The Great Moscow Circus.

After a nine-month Covid-induced hiatus, the internationally-sourced talent is biting at the bit to introduce audiences to their brand new show.

There will be juggling, dancing, aerial acrobatics, trial riders and dare devil motorcycle cage riders.

Moscow Circus spokesman Mark Edgley said the crew had been performing the new show in Australia for under two months and was excited to bring it to Mackay audiences.

“The Moscow Circus Extreme Show is brand new show, it brings the wow factor to the audience,” Mr Edgley said.

“Its an international show, we have performers from Columbia, South America, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Greece, Siberia, Ukraine.

“We even have a little eight-year-old boy on a motorbike.”

Mr Edgely said like many in the arts industry, the circus was hard hit during Covid-19.

“It was terrible, everyone was frustrated, you can’t travel and can’t perform,” Mr Edgely said.

“We were hit hard. Not just financially but it was difficult for all of us, it really hurt us.

“When you’ve got internationals you have to help with visas.

“Then there’s school teachers, marketing people, there are a lot of people involved.”
