Community and Clients Services director Angela Hays said the council received 141 Australia Day nominations across eight categories, with many residents and groups nominated multiple times.
Ms Hays thanked everyone who nominated someone for a Mackay Regional Council Australia Day Award.
"Council would like to thank everyone who took the time to help us recognise the hardworking, generous people who make our region such an amazing place to live," she said.

Ms Hays said numbers at the gala were capped because of COVID, however if additional tickets became available after RSVPs were received, they would go on sale on Tuesday, January 19, until noon on Wednesday, January 20.
"These can be purchased from the MECC box office, in person or over the phone, at the cost of $30 per person," she said.
"Unfortunately, no tickets will be issued after Wednesday, January 20, at noon due to catering purposes."
