For this adorable Mackay couple ultimate happiness began with a simple swipe.
The 24 year olds, Blairdon and Sandali Woods, first locked eyes on each other while scrolling through Tinder, and it was a match.
Sandali said her now husband’s proposal was “the perfect moment”.
It was Boxing Day 2023 and he had taken her of a holiday for visit his family in Mareeba in Far North Queensland.
They had taken a trip to a waterfall that backs off Tinaroo Dam.
“It’s one of my favourite spots,” Blairdon said.
“I brought my family there – took her onto the rocks, swam for a bit and then when she least expected it I got on one need and popped the question.”
Just under 10 months later, on October 21, 2024, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Mackay courthouse.
They said they loved the smooth, no fuss, process that still allowed couples up to 50 people to celebrate the nuptials.
Moments after the ceremony the happy couple posed for photos for their close family and friends, at the steps many others walk up and down for very different reasons.
Blairdon said he was “ecstatic… in disbelief” after walking out a married man, with his beautiful bride on his arm.
Sandali agreed, “It doesn’t feel real.”
And they still held a little celebration for friends and family on the weekend just after.
