CentacareCQ has moved into its new CBD premises welcoming a "new era" of Catholic care in the Mackay community.
Bishop Michael McCarthy, who blessed and officially opened the building, said his prayer was for it to become the Jericho Inn of hospitality - in reference to the parable of the good Samaritan.
The Diocese of Rockhampton bishop said the centre would help rebuild the lives of those who found themselves in "change-of-life situations".
"(They) simply can come, to be bandaged and cared for with love," he told the crowd at the opening ceremony on Wednesday.
"Centacare Central Queensland … (cares) for all that fall by the wayside, not being selective but with a heart of mercy."

CentacareCQ director Robert Sims said the organisation was committed to helping the Mackay community.
"With our new offices we are now easier to find, easier to get to and better equipped to assist those that need our aged care, counselling, NDIS and Family Relationship Centre services," Mr Sims said.
Health and wellbeing general manager Flavia Prospero said the new premises at 58 Sydney St, having outgrown the former Milton St office, featured improvements that would enhance services.
"The interior has been custom-designed to make your experience of attending counselling or mediation consultations much more comfortable, with the creation of nine private consultation rooms and a large group meeting room," Ms Prospero said.
