Child taken to Mackay hospital after balcony fall at Sarina home

A child who hurt their back after falling off a veranda in Sarina on Christmas Eve has been taken to hospital.

A child who hurt their back after falling from a veranda in Mackay on Christmas Eve has been checked over at hospital.

Paramedics were called to a house in Sarina shortly after 6.30 on Saturday night, after a boy fell off the home veranda.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the boy had not suffered any obvious injuries from the fall but was taken to hospital with “a little” back pain.

He was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition for observation.
