Car crashes into power pole on Gordon St, Mackay, starting fire
A late night crash in the Mackay CBD caused a power pole to catch fire and sent one teen to the hospital.

A teenager was rushed to hospital late last night after he crashed into a power pole in the Mackay CBD.
Just after 10pm on January 2 a vehicle crashed into a power pole near Gordon St and Peel St on, causing the power pole to catch alight.
One crew from the Queensland Fire Department attended the scene after reports of a small fire but it is believed by the time they arrived the rain had extinguished the flames.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the power pole sustained minimal damage, and the department left the situation with Ergon at around 10.40pm.
Paramedics transported one male in his late teens to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition and a vehicle was towed from the scene.
