The Bavarian Mackay: How to win a year’s supply of schnitzel

Easter is traditionally about oodles of chocolate but these Willy Wonka-style golden tickets are all about the schnitzel.

How to pour beer the German way

Instead of a chocolate factory at the end of golden tickets this Easter, three lucky punters will get a year’s supply of golden schnitzels.

That’s one schnitty a week for 52 weeks at any of The Bavarian restaurants.

Exchange the sugar rush for a full belly to be in the winning, though.

The three Willy Wonka style golden tickets could go to winners across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand (Auckland and Queenstown).

The Bavarian diners must buy a limited-edition schnitzel platter available over the Easter long weekend, from Friday April 15 to Monday April 18.

The platter features a range of golden-crumbed veal, pork and chicken schnitzels.

The Bavarian says customer demand led to the “long-awaited comeback” of the traditional veal schnitzel.

Each potentially golden platter arrives with house-baked pretzels fresh from the oven, traditional sauerkraut, red cabbage, potato salad, apple compote and creamy mashed potato.

Bookings are available for $59 per person for a minimum of two diners.

For an additional $20, Bavarian customers can upgrade to a two-hour drinks package, including select beer, house wine and soft drinks.

Add on cinnamon-sugared doughnut pretzels for $8 each.

Everyone who buys a schnitzel platter will be in the running to win one of the three golden tickets that entitles them a year’s supply of schnitzels.

Winners will be announced Tuesday April 19.
