A new initiative to help Queensland entrepreneurs get their foot in the door for commercial opportunities within the mining and resource sector has launched in Mackay.
Mine Pitch will deliver four online pitch events throughout the year with the first happening on March 25.
Start-ups and scale-ups will be joined by a panel of eight industry representatives that will provide feedback, advice and connections to presenting companies.
All parties will have opportunities to connect one-on-one following the event to further commercial discussions.
Split Spaces is spearheading the initiative, in collaboration with Resource Industry Network, in response to growing demand for innovation and local procurement solutions across the mining, METS and resource sector.
Split Spaces general manager Deb Allan said the program would make a big impact.
“It provides a chance for some of Australia’s largest and most profitable companies to be able to procure innovative new products and services locally, resulting in greater opportunities for job creation and commercial success,” Ms Allan said.

RIN general manager Dean Kirkwood said there was a strong push from the resource sector to back local business.
“Mine Pitch will create visibility to new Queensland innovations that would not normally be able to gain attention from key decision makers in the industry,” he said.
To participate, companies must submit their application here by midnight Friday, March 12.
