A PEAK Mackay association representing resource companies has appointed a new general manager.
Resource Industry Network has announced the permanent appointment of Dean Kirkwood to the role, after he stepped up as acting general manager a few months ago.
The news comes almost five months after the resignation of former GM Adrienne Rourke.
RIN chair David Hartigan said Mr Kirkwood had a strong background in the resources sector and was well known among the industry in this region.
“Dean will continue to manage the Export Hub, as well as oversee the management of RIN and building the cooperative’s strengths through member engagement and by connecting buyers, government stakeholders and the community,” Mr Hartigan said.

Mr Kirkwood said he was looking forward to the new role and working with RIN members and the METS community.
“RIN has built an exceptional reputation for representing its members and telling the many success stories of the sector,” he said.
“I’m excited to be leading the organisation into a new phase as it prepares to celebrate 20 years in 2021, ensuring this region’s engineering and heavy industrial capabilities continue to grow and be celebrated.”
