A MACKAY accounting firm has been ranked among the top businesses in the sector across the country.

Bennett Partners Chartered Accountants, which started in Brisbane and Mackay, last year merged with Sammut Bulow Accountants and Business Advisors out of Ipswich.

Now known as Sammut Bulow Bennett Partners, the firm has been ranked number 50 in a nationwide list of 100 accounting businesses.

SBB Partners inherits a long history of servicing the Mackay, Ipswich and Brisbane regions with dynamic and highly regarded teams that provide professional services to thousands of clients across the full spectrum of industry, business and not-for-profit sectors.

SBB Mackay director Geoff O’Connor said ranking 50th in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Accounting firms was another milestone in the firm’s journey.

“We’ve just celebrated our first anniversary as SBB Partners, so this is certainly welcome news and a nice early Christmas present for the team,” he said.

“Our professionals have worked extremely hard this year (like many accounting firms across Australia).

“Operationally, we’ve been working with clients and businesses closely during a challenging year.

“It just wouldn’t be possible without our team members across Brisbane, Mackay and Ipswich who collaborate daily.”

SBB Mackay director Paul Hinton said the firm’s reputation for personal service had not wavered during 2020.

“We’ve been a part of our respective communities for a long time, and have worked hard this year to maintain that close connection with our clients when they needed it most, particularly in the first half of this year,” Mr Hinton said.

“It’s a great acknowledgment that we’re in the top 50 and our staff should take great pride in

the result”.
