INDOOR SPORTS ARENA

The owners of Mackay Indoor Sports Arena are looking to split with their property after 21 years.

Robert and Kevin Rebgetz, of Townsville, bought the 225 Harbour Rd property for $180,000 in April, 2001, less than three years after Watermore sold it for $880,000.

It has been on the property market for the past four years, with the proposed Stage 2 of the Mackay Ring Road, which will connect the Bruce Highway to the Mackay Harbour, used as a selling point.

There is also an approved development application to split the lot into two, with the arena and carpark on one 8717sq m lot and 1.53ha of vacant land on the second lot.

The arena itself is a popular home-ground for beach volleyball, soccer, cricket and netball and is located next to a caravan park with wetlands, and is a short drive from Mackay Harbour.
