A MACKAY financial adviser is making strides this year by adding two more finalist notches to his national awards belt.
Enlightened Financial Solutions CEO James Wortley has been named as one of Australia's 50 most influential advisers by trade publication Financial Standard.
Editor Jamie Williamson said the Power50 list exemplified the industry's best and the unique efforts of professionals to "create a blueprint for the future of financial advice".
"To make it on to this list is no mean feat and all that are featured should be proud of their achievement," Ms Williamson said.
Mr Wortley said it was an honour to be nominated.
"It comes back to the client experience, we're always trying to make sure the client experience gets better and better each time and it's always proactive advice," he said.
Mr Wortley is also one in four finalists for the Financial Planning Association's 2020 Advice Innovation Award that recognises innovative financial advice delivery including the use of technology.

Mr Wortley said his firm had recognised, particularly during COVID-19, how quickly financial circumstances could change and so they pivoted from providing holistic advice to instead break it down into segments or actionable pieces.
"That's what we call scaled advice," he said.
"It's important especially for those people who can't afford a $4-5000 plan."
He said segments could, for example, focus on your estate plan, your superannuation fund, what to do with surplus cash or what insurance you need in place for buying your first home.
"We're trying to do affordable advice for all Australians because we know when people do get financial advice, they're better financially off," he said.
In adding to Mr Wortley's resume, he also recently featured in Barron's top 100 financial advisers in Australia list and his firm made it to the final 10 for both the "Innovator of the year" and "Self-licensed firm of the year" categories in the ifa Excellence Awards 2020.
