Bruce Highway crash: Two cars collide on Six Mile Bridge north of Mackay
Firefighters removed the side panel of a car to free a woman trapped by her legs inside the vehicle after a head-on crash north of Mackay.

A woman was pinned in the driver’s side of a vehicle involved in a head-on crash that shut the Bruce Highway for more than an hour.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was pinned inside the car that crashed with another on the Six Mile Bridge at Hampden, 30km north of Mackay, about 10.40am.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews cut away the side panel of the Hyundai i30 to free the woman who paramedics then assessed at the scene.
The woman had suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
A man, aged in his 20s, suffered chest injuries and was also taken to Mackay Base Hospital.
It is believed he had been travelling in a grey coloured van.
Another two people were assessed at the scene but did not appear to be physically injured.
The Bruce Highway was closed with traffic banked up more than 2km from the scene as police directed smaller vehicles through a detour.
Heavy vehicle were forced to wait for the highway to re-open.
A police spokeswoman said the scene was expected to be cleared and highway reopened to traffic about 12.30pm.
