A TRUCK driver has been flown to Mackay Base Hospital after running off the Gregory Development Road near Clermont.

The man was not seriously injured, a RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said, and was in a stable condition.

"The driver passed out behind the wheel and narrowly avoided a power pole near Frankfield," CQ Rescue said in a tweet this morning.

Investigations into what caused the Mack truck to leave the road are under way.
