Construction is well and truly under way on the new KFC in Bowen and the fast-food giant has put a call out for staff ahead of its highly anticipated opening.
The world-famous franchise was granted the necessary approvals in January 2022 for a new store on the corner of Leichhardt and Livingstone streets.
A Seek job listing posted this week stated recruitment for the Bowen team would take place in two stages.

The pre-opening team would be required to completed their training in Ayr throughout October with KFC covering travel and accommodation costs.
Brisbane Prestige Property Development managing director John Samios said the restaurant would incorporate drive-through, dine-in and takeaway options and would operate from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week.
The approval followed a green light from Whitsunday Regional Council for an adjacent 24-hour Metro Petroleum service station.
Mr Samios initially told this publication construction was expected to be completed by July 2022, however photos taken this week show construction is still well under way.
However the Seek ad suggests the store will be operational sometime after late October.
Stage two recruitment for the fried-chicken retailer will begin in late October.
“We will be looking to hire the majority of our team members,” the job ad read.
“Training for this group of team members will be conducted in Bowen prior to the opening of the restaurant.”
Requirements for the job include a positive energy, attention to detail, being a team player, sound communication and interpersonal skills and transport to and from the restaurant.
No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
