“I’ve played lotto for a long time, but I only started using these numbers a few months ago,” she said.

“I read in the paper about lotto winners and I’ve always thought ‘I wish it was me’. Well, now it is.

“I’ve never had that amount of money. My bank account will look pretty good.”

As well as winning the division one prize of $740,740.75, further divisional prizes bolstered her total prize to $745,214.95.

The woman said she would use some of the money to buy a new car.

Twenty-seven people purchased wining division one tickets for the Saturday draw.

News on Bridge owner Neil McCartney said the ticket was the outlet’s first division one winner.

“It’s great to have one on the board and we hope to have many more winners from here,” Mr McCartney said.

“These types of wins are great for the community.”

A little further north, a couple who scored a winning QuickPick from Hickmott’s Supa News in Bowen celebrated their win by mowing the lawn.

The winning man said the money would help pay off some debts after the coronavirus pandemic caused them financial strain.

The third North Queensland winner was reduced to tears when she heard the good news.
